Statue of Limitations is the eighth episode of Season Five of Impractical Jokers and the one-hundredth-tenth episode overall. It aired on April 7, 2016. The Inside Jokes version of this episode aired on March 30, 2017.

Punishment[]

- Punishment: This punishment centers around an event from Season Four, when Murr and Sal were playing a game of "Do it Better" in the park. Sal had taken the "nose" of a statue located on federal property, and the Department of Homeland Security sent a note to Joe, Murr, and Q saying that they weren't allowed to physically play on a national landmark again. However, the Department ultimately dismissed the Jokers' case, but the guys never told Sal about the dismissal. In fact, for over a year leading up to Sal's punishment, the other Jokers and crew members continued to talk about and play up the infraction with Homeland Security as if Sal was still in serious legal trouble with the Department. When the time came for Sal's actual punishment, he and showrunner Pete McPartland had to sit face-to-face with the Director of Homeland Security, explaining his behavior. However, Pete was in on the punishment, and the director was an actress, and the other Jokers were telling her what to say and do. That wasn't the end of it, though. 3 weeks later, a group of representatives from the Department of Homeland Security (also actors) walked up to the Jokers, while Sal thought they were shooting a challenge. The representatives shut them down and permanently revoked their filming permit, and it was all Sal's fault! But then, the other Jokers revealed that it was all a set-up, making this the longest punishment in Impractical Jokers history, spanning almost two years.
